Bea shoots for Gold
Talented shooter Bea B is currently ranked as England No 1 and GB No 2 in her age group (Years 6-8), following a magnificent fourth place at the British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships at Ellesmere College.
Bea, a pupil in Lower Fourth, started shooting just two years ago. She recently participated in the West Midlands & North West Championships and performed exceptionally well, making it to the final. Her outstanding performance in the finals qualified her for the National Championships, which will take place in February 2024. Despite a highly competitive field of sixty participants, she finished in fourth place, missing out on the bronze medal by less than one point.
Bea’s commitment and devotion to training has enabled her to gain results like these; she trains every week at Malvern College with the ex-National Development Coach for Pentathlon GB, Bernie Moss, and attends regular West Midlands Development Squad Pathway training sessions.
Bea found her interest in shooting through Pony Club Tetrathlon, which consists of running, riding, swimming, and shooting.
Furthermore, in her most recent event, the Winter Open in Crewe, Bea came home with two silver medals in both her competitions and a gold medal on aggregate.
Bea is now looking forward to representing King’s Worcester at the Nationals and her sights for the season are firmly set on taking that GB number-one ranking, as she is currently only five points behind the leader!
We wish her all the best for the rest of the season.
