Football Fixtures Against Malvern College: A Day of Competitive Spirit and Determination

This Saturday saw eight of our football teams face off against Malvern College, with a mix of challenging and exciting matches. The games were competitive, and each team showcased great effort, enthusiasm, and determination.

The 1st team battled hard against Malvern College’s first team in what was an even first half. Both sides relied on long-range shots, but neither could break the deadlock, with the score remaining 0-0 at halftime. The second half followed a similar pattern, but a late free-kick from Malvern led to a goal with just ten minutes remaining. Despite some scrappy moments in the box, Kings couldn’t find an equaliser and were defeated 1-0.

The 2nd team faced a narrow defeat, losing 2-1 in a closely contested match that could have gone either way.

The 3rd team kicked off their season with enthusiasm, despite a tough first half where they were under heavy pressure. Thanks to some excellent goalkeeping from Noah G (L6), they kept the score at 2-1 by the break. In the second half, King’s grew into the game and were rewarded for their efforts with a late equaliser, earning a well-deserved 2-2 draw.

The 4th team produced a standout performance, showing infectious energy and determination. Their strong play resulted in a dominant 5-1 victory, with the team’s passion and teamwork evident throughout.

Match Report

The fourths began the season in style with a commanding 5-1 victory over a talented Malvern side. Flynn E set the tone with an early goal, striking past the keeper with power. Despite conceding a penalty for Malvern’s equalizer, the team quickly regained control.

Goals from Tomlinson, Shepard, Felix, and impact substitute Probert followed, showcasing sharp attacking play and clinical finishing. Will T was outstanding in goal, making a crucial penalty save late on, while Hawes added flair with his dynamic runs.

A dominant performance and a fantastic way to kick off the season – next up, Cheltenham!

The U15A team made the trip to Malvern College for a challenging match. Despite conceding early goals and going into halftime 3-1 down, the boys displayed excellent passing football and showed remarkable character. Although they struggled with set-pieces, they never gave up and fought back in the second half, scoring two late goals to secure a 3-3 draw.

The U15B team faced a narrow defeat, losing by a single goal in a tight match that showed promise for the season ahead.

The U14A team put in a dominant performance, securing a 4-1 win with strong attacking play and solid defence.

Finally, the U14B team had a solid start to their season, defeating Malvern College with a well-executed team performance. The boys showed good passing and movement, scoring several well-worked goals, laying a strong foundation for the rest of the season.
