Girls’ Cricket Teams Secure Victories in National Cups

This week has been a triumphant one for our Girls’ Cricket teams, as both the 1st XI and U15A Teams secured fantastic victories in Round Four of the National Cup.

The U18 1st XI continued their stellar form with a commanding win over Berkhamstead in Round Four of the National Cup. Batting first, the team put up an impressive total of 153/7 from 20 overs, thanks largely to a sensational century by Bryony G. Her unbeaten 100 was the backbone of the innings, showcasing a mix of aggressive stroke-play and strategic placement. Bryony’s knock was complemented by steady contributions from the other batters, ensuring a formidable target for the opposition.

In the bowling department, Florence B was on fire, taking three crucial wickets to dismantle Berkhamstead’s batting line-up. The entire bowling unit executed their plans to perfection, bowling out the opposition for 60 runs. This dominant performance has propelled the U18 First Team into the quarterfinals, where they will be eyeing up another strong showing to advance further in the competition.

The U15A team also celebrated a fantastic victory in Round Four of the National Cup against KEHS, earning their place in the last 16. Batting first, they posted a competitive total of 125/6 in their allotted overs. Hermione P played a pivotal role, scoring a crucial 28 runs from 22 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking along and maintain a healthy strike rate.

Defending their total, the U15A team put up a disciplined bowling performance, restricting KEHS to 113/7. The bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, applying constant pressure on the opposition. The fielders backed up the bowlers with sharp catches and energetic efforts in the field, ensuring that KEHS never found the momentum needed to chase down the target.

These victories reflect our cricketers’ hard work, dedication, and team spirit. Both teams have shown exceptional skill and resilience, and we look forward to their continued success in the National Cup. Congratulations to all the players and coaches involved!
