Girls Cricketers on Pre Season tour to Bath

Over the Easter break, three King’s cricket squads headed away for pre-season practice matches and plenty of competitive cricket. One of these teams was the U15 girls, who travelled to Bath for the first ever King’s Worcester Girls’ Cricket Tour.

Unfortunately the trip started with a cancelled match against KES Bath due to bad weather and pitch conditions. Nevertheless, the girls had a fantastic afternoon of training at Bath Cricket Club’s new indoor cricket centre, followed by an evening of fun exploring the city of Bath.

The next day was packed with activities, which started with a Strength and Conditioning Performance Profiling Session and a tour of the world class facilities at the University of Bath Sports Training Village. The girls found many similarities between the S&C lead at Bath and our own S&C coach at King’s, demonstrating how lucky our pupils are to have access to top level coaching.

Later in the day the girls travelled to Clifton College to play a 20-over game. In a closely fought match, all the girls were able to put their training into practice and showcase some confident and positive cricket in their first win of the season. The U15 coaches were impressed with the whole team and their success bodes well for the coming season. Well done girls!
