Joe Lifts Silver at British Weightlifting Championships
Congratulations to Sixth Form Student, Joe T-E, for claiming silver medal at the British Weightlifting Age Group Championships.
Joe competed in the U17 -60kg division where he lifted personal bests of 75kg in the snatch, 95kg in the clean and jerk for a 170kg total, just 4kg behind 1st place.
This was Joe’s first competition in the heavier -60kg division, having won the -55kg English Championship earlier this year and, as the lightest lifter in this new division, he has a huge amount of room to develop and further establish himself as one of the top young weightlifters in the country.
This impressive achievement follows his gold medal at the England Weightlifting Age Groups Championship and becoming England U17 champion in the under 56 kg category earlier this year.
Dedicated Joe makes regular use of the King’s gym and is supported by King’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, Harry, who also attended the competition with him.
