King’s Choristers Honoured in Special Evensong Ceremony

A recent evensong service marked a significant occasion for both the boy and girl choristers at King’s, as they received special recognition for their dedication and musical contributions.

Boy Choristers: The ceremony saw Head Choristers Emeritus Benedict R and George H honoured for their past leadership. Stepping into their roles as the new Head Choristers are Rory W and Ralphie D. This moment was especially poignant as Rory and Ralphie received their medals and were formally installed during the service. Both boys share a long journey together, having joined King’s St Alban’s in Year 1, moved to the Voluntary Choir in Year 2, and finally became choristers together in Year 3. Their shared path made the occasion even more meaningful.

Alongside the Head Choristers, three other choristers were recognized for their achievements:

  • Arthur T was awarded the prestigious Masons’ Medal.
  • Henry K received the Elgar Foundation Medal.
  • Sam T was honoured with the Elmley Trust Medal.

These awards celebrate their individual dedication and the vital role they play within the choir.

Girl Choristers: In addition to the boy choristers, the girl choristers also received recognition for their musical contributions. Belinda P and Juliet G were installed as the new Head Choristers, while Molly B and Larissa E-H took on the roles of Deputy Head Choristers

This special evensong ceremony was a wonderful occasion to honour the dedication and musical excellence of both the boy and girl choristers, marking a proud moment for King’s.
