King’s choristers receive their rightful recognition

Our choristers are an essential part of the professional choir that sings for services almost every day in the Cathedral.

They lead very busy lives, with regular rehearsals before and after school, and services after school as well as at weekends. It’s certainly a demanding commitment for them, and we are always delighted to see this recognised and rewarded.

Over the past two weekends, our Girl and Boy Cathedral Choristers have received their medallions. Among the girl choristers, Martha E, who has been a member of the choir for the past six years, has been appointed as Head Chorister, and Annie B has been appointed Deputy Head Chorister.

Jack T and Sebastian C have been appointed Head Choristers of the boys; Arthur T has been awarded the Worcester Lodge Medallion and Ralphie D has been awarded the Elgar medallion. We are also delighted that Benedict R has been appointed Head Chorister Emeritus following a successful as Head Chorister last year.

All the regular services in the Cathedral are, of course, open to the public, so why not join the congregation for Choral Evensong and enjoy the wonderful singing of our choristers? Details of the services can be found here.
