King’s Pupil Amelia competes at All England Dance Regional Finals!

It has been a busy Half Term for King’s pupil Amelia L (FF, K), competing in the All England Dance Regional Finals, held at Dean Close School in Cheltenham.

Amelia did exceptionally well, performing 18 different routines across different genres, with all the dances progressing through to the National Finals. This included two solo dances, duets, trios, and groups. Only the top three places make their way through to the finals, and many sections had over thirty dancers.

This is a fantastic achievement for Amelia, especially as it has taken place during the Exam Season, where she is currently sitting her GCSEs.

Amelia will be leaving King’s Worcester to pursue her full-time vocational Ballet Training at the Central School of Ballet in London, where she successfully auditioned for one of only 30 places. She will also continue to train weekly with the Royal Ballet School on their Advanced Associate Programme.

The associate programme offers enhanced ballet training with the Royal Ballet School every Saturday, with a view to full-time vocational training. This is a very prestigious programme with only 10% of applicants accepted each year.

Outside of school, Amelia trains in excess of 15 hours each week, not only in ballet but also in modern, contemporary, tap and jazz with the Harlequin Stage School.

Congratulations to Amelia on her amazing achievements and we wish her the best of luck as she competes at the National Finals.
