King’s Swimmers are Regional Champs
Over the last few weeks, eight King’s pupils competed at the West Midlands Swimming Championships in Coventry.
Our pupils taking part were:
- Dylan L (Worcester SC): Dylan won Gold in the 200m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and a Silver in the 50m Butterfly. On the second weekend, Dylan won gold in the 14yrs 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke.

- Jess D (Worcester SC): Jess played Water Polo for Cheltenham; the team were crowned U17 Champions (Gold) and won second place (Silver) in the U19 competition . Jess scored and played brilliantly in both games.
- Ben G (Worcester SC): Ben won Gold in 50m Backstroke, Butterfly and Freestyle, Silver in 16 years 100m Butterfly, and Bronze in the 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay.
- Grace R ( Worcester SC): Grace swam a personal best in 50m and 100m Breaststroke, and was a finalist in both.
- Aled L (City of Birmingham & Redditch SC): Aled was a finalist in 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke. He also won Bronze in the 400IM.
- Harry C (Royal Wolverhampton SC): Harry C continued his remarkable success by winning Gold in the 15-years-old 50m,100m, 200m,400m freestyle events, and gold in the 50m,100m and 200m butterfly events. Since the event Harry has been awarded the title of Top Junior Male at the West Midland Summer Championships 2023.
- Catherine H (Droitwich SC): Catherine qualified and competed, swimming personal bests.
- Frankie B (Worcester SC): Frankie won Silver in 15 years old 50m Butterfly and Freestyle
Mrs Monkhouse added, “These swimmers put so much effort into juggling their schoolwork and their swimming training. They often train at both ends of the day and, through their hard work and commitment, they have all managed to swim personal bests and achieve some amazing results at this high-level competition. Well done, swimmers!”
