Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Contact us confidentially to arrange a conversation.

Lower Sixth Pupil wins a coveted place with the National Youth Theatre

Lower Sixth pupil Zoë S (L6,S) has recently won a coveted place with the National Youth Theatre.

Although the impact of Covid regulations meant that the school had to cancel its live workshop with face-to-face auditions for our prospective NYT candidates, the National Youth Theatre was still accepting online ‘self-tape’ auditions, and Zoë took full advantage.

Zoë will now go forward to participate in this summer’s Acting Intake Course before becoming a fully-fledged member of the company and following in the illustrious footsteps of NYT Alumni including Dame Helen Mirren, Daniel Craig, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Zawe Ashton.

Zoë said “I had no expectations of getting in on my first National Youth Theatre audition process because I knew the competition was tough and thousands of talented actors wanted a place just as much as I did. I also felt uncertain of the effect of my monologue through the virtual experience, but when I received a place, I was blown away! I know this opportunity will be a major benefit for me and open doors into the arts industry earlier, where I can cultivate my personal acting skills with professionals.”

Zoë is a passionate and committed member of the Arts community here at King’s. You can next see her and the rest of our wonderful Senior ensemble in our production of “Harlequinade” to be streamed from 11th – 18th June.

Everyone at King’s would like to congratulate Zoe on such a fantastic achievement.
