New Faces at King’s Worcester 23/24
We would like to welcome the following new members of teaching staff who joined the King’s Community in the 23/24 academic year and introduce you all to the new faces you may have been seeing around campus.

Adam Jackson joins the Mathematics Department as an experienced teacher and outdoor enthusiast. He managed an education business called Explore Learning before moving into teaching and has since worked at a number of different schools, taking on roles including Head of Middle Years and Assistant Head of Sixth Form. He has a great deal of experience running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and looks forward to supporting pupils with their DofE journey at King’s. He has competed at a high level in a number of sports and takes a great interest in pupils’ achievements both on and off the field. Adam is passionate about learning and believes in always challenging yourself to succeed.

Lauren Slater-Klein is excited to become a part of the vibrant Drama Department here at King’s. She trained at a London theatre school in Professional Musical Theatre and went on to perform in many well-known shows, with her career being predominantly in mainland Europe. Lauren lived in Hamburg, the German epicentre of theatre, and is therefore fluent in German. Following this, she became a choreographer and director. She will be directing the Senior Musical Production of Footloose this term.

Pip Sanders joins our PE department as a PE Teacher. She has a number of years’ experience teaching PE to senior school pupils. Pip joins us from Repton College; before that she was at Pangbourne College, where she was Head of Girls’ Sport and Housemistress. Her expertise is in Hockey, Netball and Swimming. She will be coaching the U14 Netball team and the U15 Hockey Team. She brings with her a wealth of pastoral experience and will be an Upper Fourth Form Tutor. She is looking forward to the year ahead and wants to continue the development of sport at King’s Worcester.

Joshua Hemming joins King’s from Alcester Grammar School, where he was a Teacher of Maths and Assistant Head of Sixth Form for the past eight years. He is an avid rower, having rowed both at university and, more recently, for Evesham Rowing Club, before moving into coaching. He was a coach at Evesham and established a boat club at Alcester Grammar. Joshua’s wife is also a teacher at Alcester Grammar School, and their daughter has just joined King’s St Alban’s in the nursery. Over the summer, Joshua donated nine inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust.

Performance Netball Coach
Jess Haynes has joined the Sports Department as a Performance Netball Coach after finishing her Sport Science and Coaching Degree. She has coached Netball for a number of years in different schools and clubs, alongside playing the sport professionally at Severn Stars, where she obtained extensive knowledge and skills to bring into this role. Jess is very excited to be a part of this school and is looking forward to the year ahead.

Isabelle Drinkwater has joined the Rowing staff this season as a Lead Rowing coach; she will be working mainly with the J16 female athletes. Isabelle has worked for the last four years as the Development Coach at De Montfort University Rowing Club, coaching all the way through from beginners to senior athletes, both male and female, with crews gaining British University Championship medals in the Beginner, Intermediate and Championship categories.

Antonio Zarro has joined King’s as an Economics and Business Teacher. He previously taught at King Edward the Sixth College in Stourbridge and worked in banking prior to becoming a teacher.
