Outstanding Cricket Results as 1st XI and U12As Continue their Unbeaten Run

On Saturday, King’s played their annual whole programme block against Monmouth, which saw a fantastic set of cricket results from the 14 boys and girls’ teams that were in action.

The enjoyable block always provides a good challenge against a school with strong links with Glamorgan CCC.

The boys had an outstanding set of results, winning 9 out of their 10 matches, which are likely to be our best ever results.

In the 1st XI Henry H (4-23) and Seth E (49*) carried on their excellent form this season with bat and ball, which allowed the 1st XI to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Elsewhere, there were standout performances in the U14A from Lex M (97*), Ayaan B (50) and Harry N (5-33), who were just on the right side of the result in a close game.

The U12A team also continued their unbeaten start of the season thanks to a solid partnership between Harry H (42*) and Matt P (46*). However, Sam Perry was the pick of the bowlers from the weekend taking 5-5 for the U13B team.

The girls team had three very close games against strong Monmouth teams. There were some excellent skills on show throughout, and it was fantastic to see so many new pupils playing and enjoying the game. Elin M was the pick of the bowlers taking 2-14 for the U14A.

With cricket season at King’s in full swing, the boys now prepare to face Warwick in their annual T20 block, which always brings great excitement for the boys, while the girls get ready to face Marlborough College.
