Senior Skiers Soak Up the Sun in Sestriere

As term ended, our senior skiers took flight to Italy for a week in the snow at the Olympic resort of Sestriere

The group comprised 26 pupils from the Fifth and Sixth Form and four members of staff.  Skiers of all abilities took advantage of the excellent Italian Ski School instruction, and much improvement was made.  Despite hoping for a little more snow, each group made full use of the mountain, and enjoyed the extensive sunshine that bathed the resort for the full week.  The group excelled at Karaoke (with some resurrecting their singing careers the following evening by popular demand) and impressed the locals with their outdoor ice-skating prowess.  Ski slope excitement was matched one evening by an adrenalin-filled adventure of Laser Tag in a dark, snowy forest.  We enjoyed two pizza nights in local restaurants, a crepe night and an impressive fireworks display.  It was a great end to the term and start to the Christmas festivities, with much fun and laughter.
