Triumph for Jack at The Rothesay Birmingham Classic Tournament

Lower Remove pupil, Jack B was part of a winning Herefordshire and Worcestershire 14&U Tennis team at The Rothesay Birmingham Classic Tournament.

Jack joined a team of four boys and four girls from Herefordshire and Worcestershire to compete in a doubles tennis tournament run at the Priory Tennis Club in Edgbaston, alongside the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Pro Tournament.

Jack and his team did well, qualifying top in their pool, which led to a nail-bitingly tense final against a highly rated Warwickshire A Team. It was incredibly close, finishing 2-2, with Herefordshire and Worcestershire just emerging victorious on countback!

After the match, the team relaxed by watching some tennis superstars compete in their fourth-round matches, and took the opportunity to take selfies with several top players, including World Number Two, Simona Halep and British Number One, Katie Boulter!

Reflecting on the event, Jack commented, “I loved playing in this competition. We worked well as a team and played quality tennis against good opposition. It was brilliant to be around so many top professionals too, and the whole atmosphere in Birmingham was simply amazing. To win was just the icing on the cake!”

Congratulations to Jack on this fantastic achievement. We wish you the best of luck in your future tournaments over the Summer.
