U12 Netballers Become District Champions

Yesterday our U12 netballers competed in their District Tournament, held at home at Slingpool Walk, where they were crowned District Champions.

It was a fantastic afternoon of netball and was excellent to see so many girls from across the area competing to be crowned District Champions.

The U12s put in a determined performance throughout the duration of the tournament, having faced setbacks due to the team being impacted by COVID. The success of the team was due to the girls putting in a whole squad effort, with players stepping up to play in unfamiliar positions.

There were passages of play that showed real progress and promise. King’s had convincing wins against Blessed Edwards and Christopher Whitehead schools and a nail-biting 3-3 draw against RGS. Thankfully, our shooters were on form and our defence was tight, giving us the greatest goal difference of +18, allowing us to take home the title.

U12 Coach, Mrs Longley comments “I was delighted with the effort the girls demonstrated in all the games; it was a great team effort from everyone and I look forward to their continued success this term.”

The winner of the tournament qualifies to play in the Worcester Games, which is effectively the County Tournament.

Congratulations to all the girls involved on becoming the U12 District Champions!
