King’s Musicians Perform at the Highest Level

Last term, 27 pupils achieved outstanding success in Associated Board (ABRSM) and London College of Music (LCM) exams. Of these, 10 took ABRSM exams, ranging from Grade 1 all the way through to Grade 8, on a wide range of instruments including piano, voice, violin, clarinet, and trumpet. Two of our Cathedral Choristers passed Grade 8 with Distinction: Lower Fourth pupil Rory W and Lower Sixth student Martha E.  

At the end of term, the London College of Music (LCM) exams took place, in which nine pupils took Musical Theatre exams ranging from Grades 4 to 6, with all of them achieving Distinctions, which is a remarkable performance. Not to be outdone, eight pupils took the Pop Vocals exam and all of them achieved Merits or Distinctions. 

Two students are to be particularly congratulated on achieving Diplomas, meaning they can now put “Dip LCM” after their name! Upper Sixth students Elijah B and Ben B gave a challenging 40-minute recital to the visiting examiner to secure this prestigious recognition. Both have been regular contributors to Open Mic Nights throughout their time at King’s.
