Connie P Reaches Finals of Poet Laureate Competition
Lower Sixth student, Connie P, has made the final twelve of this year’s competition to become Worcestershire’s Young Poet Laureate.
This annual competition drew a record number of entries this year, with over 700 entrants in total, making Connie’s achievement all the more exceptional.
Twelve finalists, including Connie, were selected to perform their poems at the final held at The Hive in Worcester, where Connie captivated the judges with her outstanding performance.
Connie’s work will now go on to be published in an Anthology, showcasing a selection of poems from the finalists and along with other entries.
Worcestershire’s Young Poet Laureate competition has been running for over 15 years and aims to encourage young people to express themselves through poetry. It also provides a platform for young poets to showcase their work and gain recognition for their talent.
