New Faces at King’s Worcester 2025/26
We would like to welcome the following new members of teaching staff who have joined the King’s family this term and introduce you to the new faces you may be seeing around campus this year.
Paul Adams
Teacher of Business and Economics
Paul has been teaching A level Business and Economics for 25 years. Before this he had a varied career as an HGV driver and Transport Manager, working in the UK and overseas for the International Red Cross in Romania, Armenia and Zimbabwe. Following these exciting adventures, Paul returned to academic study and completed a 1 Year master’s in business administration, at Imperial College, London. Paul also completed his PGCE and then switched from industry to teaching.
Recently Paul has taught A level Business at a Sixth Form Academy in Bradford and for 18 years before that he taught at Giggleswick School, so he is familiar working in an independent school. Paul has been married to Samantha for 32 years and they have 3 children, all in their 20’s. Paul says “I love teaching, and I get great satisfaction from helping young people to better understand the complex world we live in, so they can hopefully go on to make wiser decisions and live happy and fulfilling lives.”
Jameel Khan
Graduate Sports Assistant & KSA Hockey Coach
Jameel joins King’s as a hockey specialist, providing high-level coaching to pupils at our senior and prep schools. He recently graduated from Bath University in Sports Coaching and Management, where he played both hockey and cricket throughout his time there. He is excited to join the King’s community and looks forward to sharing his skills and knowledge.
Abby Tindell
Head of Science
Abby studied Biological Sciences at Leeds University where she achieved a First class degree. Following a year at Bristol University to achieve her PGCE she taught in Bristol for 6 years before moving back to Worcester to teach at Droitwich Spa High School.
Abby has been Head of Teaching and Learning, Head of Biology and Head of Science and has been working in education for over 18 years. Abby is looking forward to working with the staff and students at King’s School Worcester and becoming part of the King’s community.
Alexander Young
Head of Languages | Head of German
Alexander grew up bilingually in Hong Kong where he attended the German Swiss International School before moving to the UK. In 2010, he graduated form the University of Bath with a first-class joint honours degree in Russian and Politics and subsequently entered the Mercedes-Benz Graduate Scheme. Principally based in the UK with assignments in Germany and Russia, he worked in the Financial Services, Retail and Insurance divisions before working as Executive Assistant to the CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK.
In 2014, Alexander completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the University of Birmingham, before joining Wellington College as a Teacher of Languages. During his time at Wellington, he introduced Russian as a timetabled subject, became a GCSE and A level Examiner and completed his Masters in Teaching Studies.
In 2019, Alexander relocated to Worcestershire with his family, moving to Malvern College as Head of German. In 2020 and 2023, he also took on the roles of Head of Modern Languages and Assistant Head of Sixth Form, respectively.
Alexander is a keen drummer, guitarist and bassist and likes many different genres of music. In his free time, he also enjoys reading German literature and books on geopolitics, as well as walking with his wife and three sons on the Malvern Hills.
David Watson
David, a former King’s pupil, joins the King’s Boathouse as a rowing coach.
Staff changes
The following staff have changed their role this year:
- Matthew Parkin, who is now Teacher of Biology
- Richard Ball, who is now Teacher of German
- Caitlin Smith, previously Graduate Drama Assistant, is now Drama and Theatre Arts Technician
- Rowan Good, previously Graduate Sports Assistant, is now PGCE student
- Alexandra Smith, previously Graduate Sports Assistant, is now PGCE student
- Adam Jackson is now Second in Mathematics
- Donna Salkeld, who is now Teacher of Mathematics
