Incredible Cross Country Success Continues at District Championships

Fifty athletes from Years 7 to 11 represented King’s at the cross country District Championships on Friday, delivering outstanding performances despite the difficult stormy conditions.

The incredible talent of our pupils will now see King’s contribute the highest number of Worcester City representatives of any school in the district across all age groups.

In the Year 7 races, King’s secured seven top 10 finishes across the boys’ and girls’ events, with five athletes earning qualification to represent Worcester City at the School Games early next year.

Success continued in the junior races, (Years 8 and 9), where the top 16 finishers progress to the County Championships in January. King’s achieved an impressive twelve qualifiers across both races. Special congratulations go to Ben B and Helena C, who both won their races comfortably – an especially notable achievement as both athletes remain eligible for the same age group again next year.

In the inter races, (Years 10 & 11), where only the top eight advance, three King’s athletes qualified for the next round. James C delivered a superbly executed race to take the win against a strong field.

Overall, it was a highly successful day for King’s, with a remarkable number of athletes progressing – a testament to the outstanding dedication and talent of our pupils.
