King’s Rowers Amongst Best in Country at Spring Events

Rowers from King’s have been making the most of the spring sunshine, demonstrating exceptional talent in a series of recent competitions.

Members of the Boat Club now look towards their Easter training camps and then regatta racing over the summer.

Junior Inter-Regional Regatta Trials

On 21^st March a small contingent of rowers travelled to Hereford to take part in the delayed trials for the West Midlands team to participate in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta in April.

The event consisted of a time trial in single and double sculls to decide these boats. It was terrific to see some great performances and very pleasing results from all our competitors.

It is fantastic to be able to report that we have qualified five boats for the Junior Inter Regional Regatta. A national event held for rowers in Fifth Form and below, at the National Water Sports Centre on April 25th.

National Junior Sculling Head

Over 40 of our rowers competed in the National Junior Sculling Head, held at Dorney Lake, a highly competitive event that sees 3000 competitors from across the country compete over 3800 metres in two legs on the Olympic course.

The conditions were excellent and our rowers thrived in the idyllic waters, a culmination of the winter training producing great results. The event also served as a selection event for the larger boats for the West Midlands team at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta.

They were outstanding results ranking our crews among the best in the country. The results also giving our crews more West Midlands representation as they were the top crews from the region.
