Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Contact us confidentially to arrange a conversation.

Sixth Form Students Celebrate Apprenticeship Offers

Three more Upper Sixth students have secured competitive apprenticeship offers across engineering, finance and tax, taking this year’s total to a record six offers for King’s.

While many students continue to apply to university, with more than 75% progressing to Russell Group universities last year, interest in alternative pathways is growing. The 2025/26 cycle has been a record year for apprenticeship offers at King’s, with students impressing prestigious companies with their wide-ranging skills.

Congratulations to the following three students on their achievements; we look forward to following their progress as they begin the next stage of their careers.

Quiyaam G-F

Quiyaam has gained an apprenticeship with BakerHicks, a design engineering company.

Based in Warwickshire, he will train as a design technician/engineer and is due to start in August. He recently attended an induction day where he met current apprentices and had the opportunity to ask questions about the programme.

After considering university and a possible gap year, Quiyaam said the apprenticeship route now feels like the right fit for him.

Griff J

Griff has achieved a wealth management apprenticeship with St. James’s Place, based at the company’s headquarters in Cirencester.

The programme lasts a year and begins in September, with opportunities to progress into other roles within the organisation.

Having long wanted to work in finance, Griff was attracted by the practical, on-the-job approach of an apprenticeship. He said it offers a strong foundation for a career, alongside an industry qualification.

Aled L

Aled has been offered a corporate tax qualification at Ballards, based primarily in Worcester, starting in September.

Aled applied to both apprenticeships and universities but the practical, learning on the job nature of an apprenticeship suits him better. He will gain an AAT qualification through his apprenticeship.
