King’s Secures Impressive Victories over RGS Worcester

On Saturday, King’s 1st and 2nd XI teams both delivered outstanding performances to secure convincing wins in the local derby games against RGS Worcester.

1st XI

King’s produced an excellent all-round cricket performance to claim a commanding victory over RGS Worcester, combining superb batting with disciplined bowling and sharp fielding.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, King’s made full use of the excellent batting conditions. The opening pair set the tone brilliantly, putting on a magnificent 228 for the first wicket and placing the side firmly in control.

Liam B enjoyed a memorable innings, scoring his maiden 1st XI century and finishing on 116, while captain Will T continued his prolific season with a superb 107. Some powerful late-over hitting from Seth E helped King’s finish on an imposing 273/4 from their 40 overs.

King’s carried their momentum into the field, making an early breakthrough with just the second ball of the RGS Worcester innings. From that point on, they remained in full control of the game.

Hassan F bowled a miserly spell, well supported by Sufiyaan R and Ayaan B, who both claimed two wickets.

RGS were eventually bowled out for 153 with overs to spare, securing a well-deserved win for King’s and rounding off an excellent team performance.

2nd XI

King’s 2nd XI produced another impressive performance to claim a comprehensive victory over RGS, showing real strength with both bat and ball in a much-changed side.

Batting first, King’s set a strong total of 182, led by a standout innings from Ollie M, who scored an impressive 77. He was well supported by Joe T, who added a valuable 34 to help put the team in a commanding position.

The bowlers then backed up the batting effort superbly, restricting RGS to 152. Arlo F, who is only in Year 9, delivered a particularly impressive spell, taking three wickets, while Theo S also claimed three wickets in a strong team bowling display.

It was a hugely encouraging cricket performance from the 2nd XI, with every player contributing to a well-deserved win.
