Cross Country Success at District Championships
King’s took a large team of over 50 athletes to compete in the Worcester City District Cross-Country Championships on Thursday 5th December at RGS The Grange. The weather conditions were good with the rain holding off, but the course was muddy and slippy, which saw numerous athletes slip throughout the races.
The first race of the day saw the year 7 boys and girls take to the course. Helena C stormed to victory by a huge margin in a very impressive run. Thomas E and George M also secured top 4 finishes in the year 7 boys race. The junior girls (year 8 and 9) race saw another dominant victory for King’s with Mea H pipping Katie C for 1st and 2nd place finishes. In the junior boys race Freddie P finished in 2nd place, showing great pace in a large field. The Inter girls saw further great performances from the King’s athletes, with Sophie P and Lucy T finishing in 2nd and 3rd place. The final race of the day saw another commanding victory, with James C controlling the race from start to finish.
It was fantastic to see that once again King’s took the largest group of athletes to compete and will have the highest number of athletes competing in the County Championships in January and the School Games finals for the year 7s in February. Congratulations to all those who have qualified:
