Flo Reaches ‘West End Calling’ Final
Talented Fifth Form pupil, Flo S, has secured a place in the teen grand final of national performing arts competition, West End Calling, after impressing judges in the semi-finals in Manchester.
She now goes on to perform at The Other Palace in London’s West End on 25 May, where some of the most talented young performers from across the UK will compete in front of a panel of musical theatre professionals.
Her semi-final performance came after a highly competitive process that drew youngsters from around the country. The judging panel included members of Remember Monday, who represented the UK at Eurovision in 2025, alongside West End performer Michael Mather, currently touring as Fiyero in Wicked, and a number of other stage professionals.
Flo was amongst hundreds of children who auditioned at 20 locations in the UK, 160 of whom made it through to semi-finals. She is only one of 60 in the grand final, and amongst the final 20 in her age group. She will now perform in front of an audience made up of the public as well as agents, casting directors and industry professionals.
Flo, who is currently studying GCSE drama, has already made a strong impression through her work in music and drama at King’s. Most recently, she starred as Roxie Hart in the senior production of Chicago, earning praise in a National School Theatre review for an incredibly compelling performance.
She has also appeared in Theatre Factory productions, including last summer’s Legally Blonde, in which she played Brooke Wyndham. With the grand final now in sight, supporters will be hoping Flo can continue her standout run on one of theatreland’s most exciting youth talent stages.
Congratulations, Flo, and we all wish you the very best of luck for the final.
