Junior Skiers Enjoy Half Term Adventure to Prato Nevoso

Twenty-six pupils enjoyed an unforgettable half term adventure on the slopes of Prato Nevoso, making the most of every minute in the Italian Alps.

Blessed with wall-to-wall sunshine for most of the week, conditions were close to perfect. One evening brought heavy snowfall and there was a single grey day, but the fresh powder only added to the excitement, giving pupils the chance to carve tracks through soft snow under bright blue skies.

The group impressed instructors with their stamina and enthusiasm, clocking up six hours of skiing each day – an exceptional amount for a school trip. Thursday proved particularly memorable, with eight hours on the slopes thanks to two hours of magical floodlit night skiing under the stars.

The progress made across the week was remarkable. Beginners, who started out on the nursery slopes building confidence and mastering the basics, were racing around the mountain by the final days. Across all groups, skills, confidence and resilience grew visibly with each run.

Evenings were packed with highlights. Pupils enjoyed tubing sessions, a lively quiz at the hotel, and delicious meals throughout the week. A special night out at a local restaurant introduced the group to traditional Italian pinsa, a Roman-style pizza, while a celebratory pizza night marked the end of a truly superb trip.

From first turns to confident descents, the Junior Ski Trip to Prato Nevoso was a brilliant success from start to finish – a week of sunshine, snow, friendship and fantastic achievement on the slopes.
