King’s Pupils Win Languages Prize at International Space Challenge

King’s Worcester pupils came out winners of the Languages Prize at the RAF/National Space Academy/Business Language Champions International Space Challenge competition at RAF Cosford last Thursday. Three teams of Upper Removes (Year 10s) and Fifth Formers (Year 11s) representing French, German and Spanish each completed design, construction, marketing and engineering challenges at the national event with the German team winning the Language Prize and Spanish and French teams both commended for effective team work.

The eye-opening event allowed pupils to gain insights into the key role of foreign language skills in science, business, marketing and research, as well as hands on experience in the impressive setting of the RAF museum. RAF languages and engineering experts were on hand to support and a taster in Russian added yet another dimension. Congratulations are due to all involved with the presentations in the target languages core to the day’s challenges.
