King’s Worcester Named Top Sporting School for Third Consecutive Year

King’s Worcester has been named in the top 2% the UK’s highest performing sporting schools in School Sport Magazine’s annual league table, alongside renowned educational establishments including Millfield, Repton School and Brighton College.

This marks the third consecutive year King’s has featured in the top half of the top 200 rankings, and for the second year running, King’s is the only school in Worcester to make the list.

Schools are evaluated based on their success across 20 different sports and over 120 events. This not only highlights King’s Worcester’s consistent achievement and commitment to sport, but also the diversity of opportunity offered to its pupils.

The latest ranking sees King’s jump an incredible 37 places, thanks to a raft of exceptional achievements across multiple sports. These have included the U14 hockey team lifting the National Plate, the 1st XI rugby team reaching the final 32 of the National Cup and final stages of the Rosslyn Park Sevens tournament, as well as national success in netball, cricket, swimming and athletics.

Head of Foundation, Ben Charles, said: “This accolade is testament to the talent and determination of our pupils and the dedication of our staff.”

“At King’s, we encourage our pupils to be curious, caring and confident and to embrace all the opportunities we offer, including the myriad sporting activities, to ensure they receive a rounded experience and develop the skills they need to flourish in the future.”

Foundation Director of Sport, Jonny Mason, added: “We are thrilled to be recognised as the best sporting school in Worcester for the third year running. The sporting provision and achievement at King’s are exceptional. To be alongside some of the leading boarding schools in the country is testament to the standard of sport we offer.”
