King’s Worcester Sixth Formers Achieve National Cricket Success

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two of our Lower Sixth students, Phoebe B and Seth E, who have both excelled in their cricketing careers this year, gaining recognition at a national level.

Their hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent have earned them places in the England U-19 cricket squads, marking significant milestones in their sporting journeys. Phoebe has been selected to represent England at the 2025 ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup, while Seth recently made his debut for the England U-19 team in a Tri-Nation series. Their accomplishments are a testament to their commitment, and we couldn’t be prouder of their success.

Phoebe Selected for England U-19 World Cup Squad

After a phenomenal season with Worcestershire Women and the Central Sparks Academy, our very own Phoebe B (L6, Cl) has been selected for the England squad for the 2025 ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup. The tournament will be held in Malaysia in January and will bring together 16 teams from around the world. England has been drawn in Group B, where Phoebe and her team will face Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA.

Phoebe’s season has been nothing short of outstanding. She was named Worcestershire Women’s Young Player of the Year for the second year in a row, after taking an impressive 18 wickets in just seven games and playing a vital role in the success of Worcestershire Rapids. On top of that, she was the second-highest wicket-taker at the 2024 School Games, with a standout performance that included taking three wickets against the West Indies U-19s.

This is a fantastic achievement for Phoebe, and we are thrilled to see her hard work pay off. We wish her every success as she represents England on the world stage.

Seth Impresses for England U-19s

Congratulations are also in order for Seth E (L6, Cr), who recently made his debut for the England U-19 Cricket Team in a Tri-Nation series against Scotland and Ireland. In his first match against Scotland, Seth was formally presented with his ODI cap, number 561, marking a significant milestone in his cricketing journey.

Seth’s series was nothing short of brilliant. In the second game against Scotland, he scored a half-century, making 52 runs from 48 balls, helping England reach a record-breaking total of 409 runs – the highest-ever score for an England U-19 One Day International. To top it all off, Seth took the winning catch, securing victory for his team.

Seth has been included in the England U-19 Winter training squad and will be attending two training camps at Loughborough University in the coming weeks. We are excited to watch his progression and are confident he has a bright future ahead in the sport.

Both Phoebe and Seth have demonstrated incredible commitment, skill, and passion, and we are all cheering them on as they continue to make their mark on the world of cricket.
