Mathematicians Deliver Flawless Performance in Maths Challenge

Our Sixth Form mathematicians have been busy showcasing their talents in the recent UK Maths Challenge competitions.

Four students, two from Lower Sixth and two from Upper Sixth, represented the school at the Senior Team Maths Challenge Regional Final, held at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys.

Despite a tricky start, dropping marks in the first round, the team delivered a flawless performance in the subsequent round, demonstrating resilience and teamwork. Their efforts secured a commendable 13th place in the West Midlands region.

A combined six pupils from Lower and Upper Sixth also tackled the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo and the prestigious British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1. The Olympiad, a demanding 3.5-hour written paper, is designed to stretch the very best mathematical minds in the country. We look forward to hearing the results when they are announced later in the year.

Congratulations to all those who took part: Jade T, Edgar K, Arthur D, Samantha C, Dan A, Pranav M.
