Middle Years Charity Committee Spreads Christmas Cheer

The Middle Years Charity Committee have been busy assembling stocking presents for Home for Good charity, in their first project since forming earlier this year.

The MYCC worked incredibly hard, encouraging their houses, producing advertising material and planning communications to Houses and to parents, and collected an impressive amount of chocolate coins, fairy lights, fluffy socks, notebooks, sweets and shower gel to fill the stockings.

Founded in 2013, Home for Good Worcester is a charity dedicated to finding these nurturing, safe and stable homes for vulnerable children and young people in the UK. The charity provides Christmas stockings for young people aged 16-24 who have left care and are living independently. These young people often have no company and no presents on Christmas day, so a stocking filled with these gifts makes a big difference.

Joy Pollock, from Home for Good, pictured with members of the Committee, commented: “Thank you to you all! Unloading it all into the office ahead of packing later in the week, I was overwhelmed with the generosity and accuracy of the gifts. Some really thoughtful, kind and luxurious presents. We want our young people to feel valued, not just an afterthought, and the gifts reflected the value placed on all young people.”

Sincere thanks to all the Lower Remove, Upper Remove ad Fifth Form students and families who supported this campaign and will make a positive difference to the lives of many young people this Christmas.
