Molly B Wins Silver at Karate National Championships

Last weekend, Molly B (FF) took part in the English Karate Federation’s National Championships in Sheffield as part of Worcestershire Karate Squad.

Competing in the Adult (age 14 and up) Visually Impaired category, Molly’s karate skill shone through and gained her a silver medal. This was especially impressive as all competitors in the visually impaired categories wear a blindfold to completely obscure their vision to make it is a level playing field; this is no easy feat.

Molly lost in the final to someone who has represented England and been National Champion several times previously. However, Molly was very pleased that out of the three judges, one awarded her their ‘flag’.

Molly has tried very hard to balance her karate training alongside her work for her mock exams and her chorister duties. This was her last competition before her GCSEs in the summer, and she was delighted to have gained such a fantastic result.

Congratulations to Molly on this outstanding achievement.
