Pupils Go Red for a Cause on Charity Day
Students and staff at King’s turned the school red in support of the British Heart Foundation during a vibrant and successful charity day.
Organised by the school’s pupil-led charity committee, the event raised an impressive total of £1,497.70. The funds came from two main activities: a red-themed non-uniform day, which brought in £1,157, and a popular cake sale that raised £340.70.
For the non-uniform day, pupils and staff were invited to swap their usual school uniform for red-themed outfits in exchange for a £2 donation.
At short break, the Long Gallery was transformed into bustling bake sale hubs. Tables were filled with an array of treats, generously donated by staff and pupils. From red velvet cupcakes to heart-shaped biscuits, the selection proved irresistible, with students queuing out the door to show their support.
Red Day is part of a wider programme of fundraising activities organised throughout the year by the committee, with pupils taking the lead in supporting a range of nominated charities.
Thanks to the generosity and community spirit of everyone involved, the proceeds from Red Day will now go towards helping the British Heart Foundation continue its vital work funding research and supporting those affected by heart and circulatory diseases.
