Supporting Malvern St James Families

We are sorry to hear the news regarding Malvern St James School and recognise how difficult and unsettling this will be for its community.

The King’s Worcester Foundation wishes to offer a supportive and practical conversation to MSJ families who may be considering their next steps for September. Where appropriate, we would be happy to discuss potential places across our schools and to answer any questions.

Rugby Sevens Season Comes to an Impressive Close at Rosslyn Park

The Rugby Sevens season has come to an end in impressive style, with all age groups playing with exceptional determination at the Rosslyn Park National Schools tournament.

King’s was represented at tournament by U11s, U13s, U14s, U16s and 1st VII squads, who all played some excellent rugby against tough opposition. In each age group, there are between 150 and 200 schools that enter from around the UK and abroad.

Watching a combined Hawford and St Albans team at the end of the week was fantastic, and it was great to see the boys come together so well.

The U13s demonstrated exceptional skill, playing top-level rugby against some very physical teams.

The U14s team have shown great progress throughout the season and have played a lot of high skill set rugby throughout the tournament.

The U16s squad are a talented group that at their best were able to move teams around and score against the best teams around.

The highlight of the week came from the 1st VII, who started day one with 252 schools and 9 games later were preparing to take on Lord Wandsworth College in the Final. The squad should be exceptionally proud of themselves for representing themselves and the school in a way that will live long in the memory.

Rugby Sevens is a game that demands a lot both physically and mentally, and it has been fantastic to see the progress that has been made through the season.

It has been especially pleasing to see all our age groups playing with such determination and embracing the high skill set style of Sevens we look to play at King’s.
