Storming Success for King’s U15s at Solihull School Sixes

On Monday 12th June our U15 cricket team played exceptionally well to win the Solihull 6s tournament for the first time ever.

U15s Solihull

The format of each game was only 5 overs per innings. This required a huge amount of accuracy with the ball and controlled, aggressive batting.

Scoring 103 in our first game set the tone for our batting throughout. The team proceeded to win their group, meaning we faced Warwick in the semi-final. After some confident batting we needed to bowl well in order to defend the 80 runs scored. Tight bowling and excellent fielding saw us win the game with a ball to spare.

In the final we met a very strong Solihull team who scored 47 runs in the first two overs. The three that followed slowed their rate but we still had to score 80 to win. Under a lot of pressure we moved the ball around well, scoring consistently in each over. Needing 13 off the last 6 balls gave us everything to play for in what had been a thrilling match. A four off the first ball was a good start but two singles followed. 7 off three was achieved with two successive fours to give us the win with a ball to spare.

Congratulations to all the players in what was great squad effort.
