Stratford Junior Sprint Regatta Success
On Saturday, our Boat Club showcased their talent and determination at the Stratford Junior Sprint Regatta, held along the picturesque River Avon in Stratford upon Avon.
The event featured thrilling races, with the course incorporating a challenging bend in the river that tested the skills of all competitors. Crews battled fiercely, often within inches of each other, adding to the excitement for both participants and spectators.
Our crews performed exceptionally well over the demanding course, with many advancing to the semi-finals and finals. The day was made even more enjoyable as the rain cleared, giving way to summer sunshine, much to the delight of the ice-cream vendors, who saw brisk business.
A special mention goes to Oliver C, who not only coxed his own crew to success but also took the time to cox for other teams and mentor younger members, alongside George G. These two talented boys then combined their skills in sculling to win the Junior 15 Double Scull event.
Winning Crews:
- Seb McD – Junior 16 Single Scull (Band 2)
- Toby A – Junior 16 Single Scull (Band 1)
- Joseph R & Charlie M-W – Junior 16 Double Scull
- Freddie B, Freddie G, Alex McV, Lucas C & Oliver C – Junior 15 Coxed Quad Scull
- George G & Oliver C – Junior 15 Double Scull (Band 2)
- Florence V & Sophie E – Women’s Junior 14 Double Scull
Congratulations to all our rowers for their hard work and outstanding performances. Their success at the Stratford Junior Sprint Regatta is testament to their dedication and the excellent coaching they receive. We look forward to more victories in future regattas!
