Last Thursday both our U15 Girls’ and Boys’ cricket teams played the second round of their respective U15 T20 Cups.
U15 Girls T20 Schools Cup
Having already defeated Malvern College in the first round of the U15 T20 Schools Cup with a dominating performance, King’s went on to play Bromsgrove School in the second round.
King’s won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 214 for 6 off of 20 overs. Bryony G (LR) put in an impressive batting performance, scoring 128 not out, being well-supported in the final stages by Eleanor R (U4).
We then bowled exceedingly well in dismissing Bromsgrove for 64 runs, with Mathilda P (U4) being the pick of the bowlers for King’s Worcester.
This was a fantastic performance from the team and they have now progressed to the next round, where they face Norwich School on the 9th June away.
U15 Boys T20 County Cup
The boys were playing in the second round of the County Cup, where they also faced Bromsgrove School. Throughout the game the team displayed a really well-balanced performance.
Fielding first, they bowled with real consistency and their fielding was sharp and accurate, keeping the pressure on the batting team. At the end of the 20 overs, Bromsgrove posted a score of 123 runs.
Needing to get off to a solid start, Ollie Y (UR) and Felix F (UR) batted exceedingly well, posting 38 runs and 24 runs respectively.
Captain Charlie F (UR) then scored a quick 20 to see King’s Worcester over the line.
The team is really looking forward to the final of the County Cup after Half Term.
Good luck to both teams as they prepare for their next rounds!
