Sun Shines on King’s Teams at Warwick Sevens

What could have been a muddy, wet, and miserable day of Rugby 7s turned out to be one full of exciting rugby, with some unexpected sunny spells!

With the unfortunate cancelation of the U15 Tournament, the U16s, U14s and U13s nevertheless all turned up at Warwick raring to go. The U16s played some great rugby at times, which resulted in them securing a place in the Plate Final. Unfortunately, injuries got the better of them, and they ended up as Plate runners-up to St Ambrose College, who were deserved winners on the day.

The U14s put on a great show, with some slick handling and fancy footwork, making their way to the Plate Semi-Final, only to be pipped at the post by Wellington College to the Final.

The U13s had a tough group but showed great heart and resilience, which paid off with some good performances in the post-group stages.

All in all, it was a great learning experience for the boys, which will stand them in good stead for the forthcoming Nationals.
