British Maths Olympiad Success for King’s Students
Sixth Form students Sam C (U6) and Pranav M (L6) are celebrating after being awarded certificates following their participation in the British Maths Olympiad recently.
Their outstanding scores saw Sam awarded a distinction, with Pranav earned a merit – both fantastic results!
The British Maths Olympiad, run by the UK Maths Trust, is the top follow-on round to the Senior Maths Challenge, which Sam and Pranav took part in towards the end of 2024. Their high scores in this took them through to the Olympiad stage, which involves taking a three-and-a-half-hour paper and solving incredibly challenging problems, each requiring a full written solution.
Both Sam and Pranav have spent many hours preparing for the challenge, which requires them to practice the very specialised style of question.
Congratulations to both our Sixth Form students, not only on their achievements but for their dedication and hard work in preparing for the Olympiad.
