U16 Rugby Team Secure their Place in the Finals

The U16 rugby team have secured a place in the Finals of the North Midlands Cup, following a hard-earned victory in the semi-finals against Old Swinford Hospital School.

The match was action-packed, with plenty of points being scored by both teams. Old Swinford struck first with a well-worked try in the corner: King’s quickly replied with their own try through the forwards. This set the scene for a close contest, with end-to-end play and neither team able to get a real grip on the game. Old Swinford were up at the break, with only one score in it.

King’s came out firing, with a score right from the kick-off, thereby getting themselves right back into the game. Both teams continued to go back and forth, scoring points, only for King’s to assert their dominance in the game with 10 minutes to go, which enabled them to take home the win.

This was a fantastic result for the boys, with the score finishing 33-42 in a highly competitive game. The final is due to be played later this term against Bromsgrove School.
