Last summer our Upper Sixth artists sadly were unable to have their celebratory Pre-U art exhibited as normal in their end of year show, so the King’s Art Department has put together an impressive virtual 3D exhibition of their work.
This fantastic technology has allowed anybody to view these magnificent pieces from all Upper Sixth art students last year, which would have been on display in the school gallery on King’s Day, the annual end of year celebration for U6 pupils leaving King’s. This year the pieces showcased in this exhibition are in response to the theme ‘Term’, set by the exam board, to produce a self-directed body of work.
Our Art Department has gained a national reputation for excellence, and we are proud of its outstanding results for many years. Our A level students take the Cambridge Pre-U qualification as an alternative to A level as it offers additional depth, providing students with a broad and exciting art experience. Our Upper Sixth students have the opportunity to follow independent programmes of study reflecting personal interests and allowing their creative sides to flourish. Due to our first-class facilities, our students can work on various mediums including; painting printmaking, mixed-media, digital media, and sculpture. This variety of artwork can be clearly seen by last year’s Upper Sixth in our impressive virtual art gallery.
