The King’s School Mock Election

The first King’s Mock Election launched this week creating a fantastic buzz around School whilst highlighting the importance of our democratic system.

The election has been designed to promote the importance of politics in society, providing pupils with the opportunity to learn more about how the voting system works and the practical process they will have to go through when they are eligible to vote.

We have candidates running for four parties:

Harry F (Brexit Party)
William H (Conservative)
William L (Labour)
Zoe K (Green Party)
Theo O (Liberal Democrats)

This week, pupils throughout the School have been registering to vote in advance of Polling Day which will take place on Monday 9th December. It has also been a busy week for our candidates who kicked-off their campaigns by pitching to the School in assembly and launching a video to be shown to pupils during House time. The campaigning will continue into next week, with the all-important candidate debate due to take place next week on Thursday (5th December).

On Polling Day, pupils will attend their designated ‘Polling Station’ to cast their vote and the results will be announced on Friday 13th December.
