Boys Tennis Team Progress to the Regional Finals

Not even a blustery and rainy Thursday afternoon could dampen the spirits of our 8 enthusiastic boys tennis players (U4-UR). Our 8 boys took part in a mixture of singles and doubles matches against Bromsgrove School at our home courts.

At one stage an umbrella blew across the court, the balls were heavy, and winds made serving difficult, but King’s came away with a victory in both their Division 1 and Division 2 matches against Bromsgrove School. Jack B (U4), playing students two years above him, won his Division 1 singles match, which set the ball rolling for a positive fixture. Ollie W (UR), Harry W (LR) and Tom E (UR) also won their singles, and doubles matches, meaning that King’s Division 1 came away with a 12-0 victory of unbeaten mini sets.

In Division 2, we had singles victories for George C-F (UR), Joel C (UR), and Jamie W (UR), and after a close defeat for George and Joel in the doubles, Jamie and Maxie Willetts brought home a final victory in true ‘Bryan Brothers’ fashion.

An excellent 12-0 win in Division 1 means the team progress to the regional finals. Very well done to the Division 2 team who won their fixture 8-4 too.

Congratulations to all the boys involved.  Girls and Boys Tennis Club runs after school on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and is open to players of all skill level who would like to join.
