Cross Country Athletes Make History at National Final Qualification
Last week, King’s athletes took part in for the finals of the Cross Country Cup – English Schools’ Athletic Association for only the second time in our school’s history – a truly remarkable achievement.
Over 300 schools began the journey in the county rounds, but just 30 teams earned the right to compete at the prestigious final. To be among them is a testament to the dedication and talent of our runners.
The final was held on a tough, relentless course, with virtually no flat sections and conditions made even more challenging by thick, energy-sapping mud. Despite the adversity, our boys gave everything, racing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best young athletes from across the country.
Their determination paid off with a 26th place finish nationally – a result that reflects grit, teamwork, and resilience. This is an achievement they will always remember, and one that inspires future generations of King’s athletes to aim high.
Congratulations to the team of Ben B, Thomas E, Rory G, Oscar H and George M. Their latest achievements continue what is proving to be an exceptional season for cross country at King’s.
