Inter Girls Compete at English Schools National Cross Country Cup Finals
The Inter Girls Cross Country Team travelled to Leeds Grammar School, on Saturday 3rd December, for the English Schools National Cross Country Cup Finals.
This is the first time a King’s team has qualified to compete at this prestigious event, with only the top 27 schools in the country qualifying.
The Cross Country Cup Final is a team competition with the first four runners from each school having their points added together for a final score. It was a tough start for the girls with all 150 athletes competing getting bunched together at the start and it made it difficult for the girls to get up to race pace. Despite this, they continued to dig deep and work their way through the course, with all King’s girls finishing very strongly.
All the girls ran very well and should be very proud of their performances, on a technical and tight course.
It was particularly pleasing that the girls finished in the top 20 when all 5 of the girls can compete in the same age group next year.
Congratulations to the team L-R Ella P, Lucy T, Catherine H, Eva M and Phoebe M.
