King’s Worcester Netball Round-Up 21-22

This netball season has been a long time coming. With 20 teams having played 133 games over the two terms, this was a brilliant bounce-back season post COVID for King’s Worcester Netball.

It has been great to be back on the court and all the girls across the different year groups have played some excellent netball.

There were successes from our Lower Years pupils early in the season, with the U12 As and Bs winning their District Tournaments back in January.

The U14s and U16s were crowned both District and County champions and put on a good fight at the Regional Netball Tournament, where they narrowly lost out in the semi-finals.

The Second team (FF – U6) had a really strong season, winning 7 out of their 11 matches. Their most memorable performance came in their incredible 36-22 win over RGS Worcester at this year’s Superball. They went on to win their final game of the season against KES Bath. The Second team have been led superbly this season by Harriet and Izzy.

The First Team had a slow start to the season, having lost players to injuries earlier this year.  However, the team adapted well and were determined still to pull together as a squad. This perseverance was shown in the rest of the fixtures this year as they secured some strong wins against Malvern College, winning 43-9, and then against Bablake, 40-17.

The highlight of the season, without a doubt, was the Superball, where the first team were victorious in a nail-biting 38-37 win over RGS Worcester.

Throughout the 60 minutes, the girls never gave up, showcased their strength and determination and deserved nothing more than to take the win and finish off the season on a real high.

Although the Upper Sixth girls are very sad that their netball has come to an end, they feel confident in knowing that they are leaving their dresses in a better place, with such a talented group of athletes coming through in each age group.

Good luck to all the teams for next season.
