Severn Stars Success for King’s Netballers

severn stars logoThe Netball achievements continue as four King’s pupils have been successful in recent trials and will represent our local franchise Severn Stars. Jaz F and Emily D have both been selected in the U17 squad, playing regular matches against other pathway teams. Only this weekend, both athletes were involved in matches against Wales. All of their games are being filmed so that England Netball can talent spot for their Roses academy next year.

Similarly, Freya S and Maisie L have both successfully gained a place in the U15 short squad and will represent Severn Stars at the School Games at the beginning of September. All four girls have either come through or are still a part of the King’s Nova academy, playing throughout the regular season. The academy is run by Director of Netball Miss McKenzie and this year six out of eight players that trialled from the KSW academy were successful in getting into one of the pathway teams.

“The Nova academy has been running for 4 years now and the quality and skill level of players emerging from it, is increasing year on year. I am thrilled that all six athletes will get an opportunity to showcase their skills at the next level and would encourage them all to embrace this new challenge” Miss McKenzie, Director of Netball.

Trials will be held in early September, so if you think you are the next Severn Star, look out on social media for the opportunity to apply for next season!

Congratulations to all girls involved, this is an amazing achievement and we are excited to hear about their games later on in the season.
