Cricket Teams Shine in Warwick Block

Last Saturday saw 10 boys cricket teams in action for their annual Warwick block.

In recent years this has become a T20 block for all age groups and it’s something that the boys look forward to, as it gives them a chance to play a different format and allows them develop their skills in a shorter form of the game.

Another excellent team performance from the U12A team allowed them to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

After a tricky start with the bat and the loss of early wickets, Matt P (29*) and Harry S (44*) formed an excellent partnership to get to the team up to a competitive total of 126. Matt P and Will M then bowled superbly with the new ball, taking early wickets and putting the opposition on the backfoot from the off. The bowling unit as a whole bowled excellently, however, the damage was done in the middle with Sal R taking 5-12 and the team ran out worthy winners by 44 runs.

Elsewhere in the Warwick block, there were three more half-centuries from across the teams, an impressive feat in any T20. Arthur M (51*) continued to shine, as he achieved another half century for the 2nd XI.

Lex M (51*) was the stand out batter in the U14A match and registered his second score of over 50 in as many innings, carrying on from his 97* against Monmouth. Finney B-S (50*) also scored his first half-century for King’s.

The first Saturday after half term sees the U13s and U12s take on cross-town rivals RGS Worcester and the Seniors, with the U15s and U14s playing against Malvern College.
