Arkwright Scholarship Awarded to Design and Technology Pupils
King’s has once again been recognised for its excellence in Design and Technology, with two pupils awarded the prestigious Arkwright Scholarship Award.
Fifth Form students, Bella R and Arthur D, were both announced as winners of the Award earlier this month, in recognition of their hard work and exceptional talent.
Now in existence for over 30 years, the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is the most esteemed scholarship of its type in the UK, designed to inspire pupils to pursue their dreams and change the world as a future leader in engineering, computing or technical design.
The Scholarships are awarded to hard-working 16-year-old pupils through a rigorous selection process, supporting them through their A levels and encouraging them to pursue engineering, computing or technical design at university or through a higher-level apprenticeship. The Scholarship is a programme from national STEM education charity, The Smallpeice Trust, which has been providing scholarships for pupils since 1991.
The scholarships include financial help, mentoring and exclusive events. Our Scholars will have access to a wide variety of exclusive events run by partner companies, universities and trade associations, including Connect Days and Summer Schools, giving them valuable insights into different sectors of industry and academia.
Many congratulations to Bella and Arthur on this fabulous achievement in gaining the Arkwright Scholarship.
