Drama Students Enjoy Professional Production of Blood Brothers

The combined forces of the UR and FF GCSE Drama classes enjoyed a night at the theatre last Thursday. Their set study text is Willy Russell’s “Blood Brothers” and we were fortunate that the professional touring production was visiting Birmingham Hippodrome last week. The show’s tragic ending is signalled right from the opening but that does not stop the tension building right to the bitter end. Even our most hardened young teen was left reeling. Emotions aside, the group took huge inspiration from the slick ever-changing set and witty use of costume, props and lighting.

The sense of camaraderie amongst the different groups was lovely – our theatre trips are always a great opportunity to spend time with like-minded peers. It was also a great opportunity to say hello to former staff member Sam Dudley who left us over the summer to take up a post as AV Technician at the Hippodrome.

A tiring but entertaining evening for all.
