King’s see Success at ESSA Track and Field Cup 2022
On Tuesday 10th May, King’s Athletics had a fantastic afternoon at Round 1 of the English Schools Athletic Association (ESSA) Track and Field Cup, where our Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Inter Girls and Inter Boys all competed.
This is a unique event where every member of the team has to compete in both one track event and one field event, which adds an extra dimension to the competition, particularly when it comes to the relays.
Throughout the event there were many individual outstanding performances, with everyone giving their best and several pupils achieving personal bests, along with some phenomenal results. Pupils have worked so hard in training and it is fantastic to see this paying off with fantastic results on the track or in the field.
A special mention to the following pupils who achieved over 18 points in an event:
Junior Girls:
Hattie W – 100m
Anna S – 200m
Lilly W – 300m
Sophie P – 800m
Lucy T – 800m

Relay
Our Junior Boys achieved the highest points score King’s Worcester have ever achieved with 360 points, meaning they came joint first with Bromsgrove School. Our other three teams all came second, with scores all above 312 points, which should see all the teams qualify for the Regional Finals.
All results from the day can be found here.
It was great to see so many pupils out on the track and in the field representing the school, and also to witness their camaraderie whilst supporting their peers.
